EXPLORE & ENGAGE

Explore & Engage: Enjoy your time with us, the art and the artists...

If you are a curious traveller (or traveler) and you have a mind for art, if you love stories, if you are looking for offbeat or unusual art-related things to do in Dublin, maybe a cultural or a guided tour with a difference, non-touristy experiential events away from the crowds, you have come to the right place.

Often described as a little gem hidden within the Irish capital, the Olivier Cornet Art Gallery offers a number of bespoke education and cultural services to the public and to private / corporate groups. These services include art classes, art-based workshops and story telling events as well as French language gallery tours. Whether you enjoy drawing with your pencils or with your mind, we have something for you. And, if you can't drop in for a visit at the moment, how about going for a tour of our current show or recent exhibitions in our new 3D Virtual Space

A collaboration between gallerist / curator Olivier Cornet and art historian / story teller Jean Ryan.  Our audience:  small groups of visitors and the fun thing to do with coworkers outside of work or as part of team bonding activities. Have you enjoyed your visit at our art gallery? Please leave us a review on Google, we really appreciate it!

My Favourite Artwork at Olivier Cornet Gallery

A recent initiative introduced in December 2022, whereby interns and volunteers at the gallery write about the artworks they really like and which are still available for purchase.

Cairde, Friends of the Olivier Cornet Gallery

For those who do not buy art or who have already a substantial art collection and would like to support the gallery

Where are they now?

Over the years, we have been very fortunate to see work by our artists join public and corporate art collections. Click here to see examples. Whenever possible, we have shared the behind-the-scene stories and provided as much context as possible about these acquisitions.

Films, videos and clips

We also avail of a vast selection of films, videos and clips featuring past exhibitions, talks, artists interviews and workshops. Another great way to get to know our artists, their practice and their work before or after your visit at the gallery.

James Joyce's 'Ulysses' and our annual Bloomsday group shows

The Olivier Cornet Gallery partakes in the annual Bloomsday Festival organised by our neighbour the James Joyce Centre, Dublin. Find out more about our recent Bloomsday group shows.

You might not be in a position to come to the gallery at the moment but you can still engage with our artists' work through our online art exhibitions. Click on the link above and scroll down to visit recent art exhibitions in our 3D Virtual Space, an initiative born in May 2020 during Covid-19.

'French Gallery Tours'

The gallery always welcomes group tours and discussions. With his French heritage and background (he is a linguist and translator by training and has worked in tourism), Olivier is eager to facilitate French language tours of the gallery and its current exhibitions.

'Weed and Wonderful'

An exploration of Irish undergrowth with botanical portraitist and gallery artist Yanny Petters.

This course looks at wild plants and their relationship and history with humans. With a choice of either five or ten sessions, students will learn how to draw, design and animate the plants around them, whilst also discovering the scientific qualities behind each one.

Other courses and workshops can be organised on request.

Vacancies and internship positions

There are no full-time vacancies at the gallery at the moment, but we are always looking for volunteers and Erasmus+ students who would like to carry out an internship in a contemporary art gallery.

No gallery experience is necessary but candidates must have an interest in contemporary visual art (preferably currently studying for a degree in art history or administration), a very good command of the English language, basic computer skills and the ability to work on their own initiative. They must have their own laptop that they can work from during the day. Photographic skills are a plus along with basic knowledge of social media and Photoshop.
