It was once believed that alchemists could harness the powers of nature to prolong life and to transform worthless metals into silver and gold. Believing art to be the true panacea, Olivier Cornet, curator and artist’s agent, has invited a number of artists to harness their power and creativity to turn household objects and recycled furniture into works of art, to breathe new life into old artefacts. This exhibition endeavours to be a true Alchemist’s Chamber – a melting pot of styles, interpretations, talents and perspectives – that will reinterpret and revitalise household objects we might have otherwise overlooked.
Special Thanks to Tristan Hutchinson of Filmbase for the wonderful short film on the exhibition.
A preview of some the objects "before" and some "after their transformation" can be seen here.
