Guest Speaker:  Dr Michael John Gorman, Founding Director of Science Gallery and Adjunct Professor of Creative Technologies at Trinity College Dublin.

The Alchemist's Chamber' series of exhibitions started in 2011 with gallery artists transforming everyday objects into works of art. Last year’s show, AC2, featured gold or references to the precious ore in all the works presented by the artists. For its third edition, the 2013 show, titled ‘AC3, The Timekeeper’, will feature works evolving around the theme of Time. Bonnard once said that 'the Work of art is a suspension of time'. 
Artists can indeed capture, inscribe, freeze, or paradoxically prolong (or let us -the viewer- prolong) those ‘moments in time’ whether they are depicting objects, beings, elements or emotions in transition, in movement, in transformation or transmutation. Artists can capture and master the ephemeral or the cyclical nature of things. They are the Timekeepers.
