This great painting by John Fitzsimons was purchased in 2018 by Deloitte Ireland for their corporate collection in Dublin. 

'Dead Sea' was part of the artist's solo exhibition 'Projections' which was held at the Olivier Cornet Gallery in March-April 2017. The exhibition was the artist's fourth solo show with us. The same firm acquired two other works from this exhibition. 

To paraphrase Paula Clark in her great essay, the body of work created by the artist reflected the international political climate and associated nervousness about the path that lay ahead in the context of climate change. This acquisition for a company's collection was a very clear sign for us -if we needed one- that nowadays the corporate world is using art to engage with matters such as the environment and climate change, debunking the myth that firms, here a supplier of financial services, will only hang 'pretty' or 'neutral' pictures in their offices!
