This majestic painting by Jordi Forniés entered Trinity College Dublin (TCD)'s University Art Collections in 2015.
The painting was part of the artist's solo show 'Two Worlds'
organised by Olivier Cornet at Smock Alley Theatre in 2010. The exhibition was opened by the art historian and critic Dr Brenda Moore McCann.
"As an artist, my influences are primarily things that I see, feel and experience. Colour and texture represent two different worlds that I try to marry together in my work. Fabrics, paper, wax, latex, plastic… mixed with acrylic, oil, enamel and mineral pigments to create images and patterns with colour which express my feelings and experiences. ‘Two Worlds’ is a collection of very personal work. It represents duality around the many aspects of creation and its meaning. Ancient and contemporary techniques and materials are mixed to initiate a dialogue between me and the white canvas, and this dialogue then continues on in the mind of the viewer. I really hope that these paintings can speak for themselves." Jordi Forniés, October 2010
