This superb painting by John Fitzsimons was purchased in 2017 by the Office of Public Works (OPW) for the collection of the Irish State. 

'The River II' was part of the Olivier Cornet Gallery's group show '2° C', curated by gallerist Olivier Cornet with the support of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Ireland.  The exhibition was first presented at Vue Art Fair (RHA, Dublin) in November 2017 where the OPW acquired the painting,

The exhibition was then shown at the Olivier Cornet Gallery from 17 December 2017 to 20 March 2018. It received excellent reviews as can be seen in the Coverage section of the '2° C' exhibition page.
